Building Regulations

The final stage of the project is to produce a set of drawings that comply with the Building Regulations. These are “technical” details relating to the construction of buildings (see building regulations examples below) that are to be constructed under the requirements of the Building Regulations and which are to be inspected by Building Control.

What Should I Expect?

The details required for building regulations depends on the complexity of the proposed project and cover structural elements, thermal requirements, regulation compliance (e.g stairs, electrical) etc etc.

The drawings are then submitted to the Building Control Officer for checking against the regulations prior to construction (usually 14-28 days). These drawings are then often used for pricing purposes to cost out the project (but is not a specification).
